A PLETHORA OF PATTERN
Month Of June Theme for Rise & Rhyme Writer's Studio
As I sat in Mother's kitchen making ready to write about the next Rise & Rhyme theme for the month of June, l could not help but be drawn into the faint of the clock ticking, and the one of the kitchen taps (cold) dripping. Together, they made a cross rhythm that seemed like a pushed 6/8 over a 4/4 beat.
I think I was meant to hear this this morning. The effect was calming. I was called to a pause. Instructed to listen...for pattern.
In doing this, I started to think about the patterns that exist in our lives. Habits and DNA inscribed patterns of behaviour we have as humans. And the difference between the two. Our patterns of learning.
Where time and strokes of colour in space provide us with an imagination experience when it comes to art making. For example, the shape of words of poem on a page. The time it takes to skim the white space to the next line. To the next cognizant understanding and experience of the metaphor.
Where do we experience patterns overtly and unexpectedly in our lives?
Patterns in the natural world, art and aesthetics, history and culture, philosophy and human thinking, science and chaos, especially chaos has a lot of thought and poetry provoking possibility. Predicability?
This month we will explore the way we are immersed in pattern for safety, for fun, for certainty and crucial calls to break them.

Every Thursday I will share a catalyst seed to assist your approach to your imagination, and encourage you to walk through, when you might be tempted to back away and say, "No time to play. I have to do thr serious writing now. Or there's soemthing more important than my creativr well-being to take care of." Work. Domestics. Errands. Study...
Choosing to hi-5 your imagination in the morning is an act of resilience you cam enjoy and feel empowered by. Stick to a once a week habit if you don't journal daily and see what difference it makes.
In the meantime, get ready for tomorrow's catalyst journal prompt. 8am tomorrow.
Have a great of the day,

Don't forget then end of the month live online gathering where we can share our work with others who are on this journaling joureny with you!
